Day 4: Teaching

I enjoying seeing my husband teach our kids. He is great at sharing his knowledge with other and explaining how things work. This afternoon he needed to get one of his guns sighted in for deer hunting. He has sighted in plenty of guns himself over the years. Instead of sighting in yet another gun himself he took it as an opportunity to teach Anna how to sight in a gun. It was fun watching them spend one on one time together. ~Happy Sunday

The other weekend our youngest 2 girls got to participate in the youth hunt. This was the first time that Libby got to hunt and she was successful!

Youth Hunt

The 2007 Youth Hunt was very successful for the Hill household.
Zack "bagged" an 11-point buck. Looking at the picture you may think that it doesn't look like an 11-point, that is because about 5 of the points are "sticker points" at the base of the antlers but they are "legal points". Unfortunantly he didn't get home until almost midnight so we weren't able to get a traditional hunting picture with his deer because it was dark outside and the next day was the record hot Monday so we couldn't wait for him to get home from school to take more pictuers we had to get the deer processed. We believe the meet is more valuable then the pictures. ;-)
Anna "bagged" a 9-point, non-traditional buck. It might not show up so well in this picture but the deer has really unusual antlers.
As you can see both kids are very pleased with their results.

We enjoyed venison tenderloins, from Anna's deer, and red skin potatoes for dinner Monday night. It was delicious! Mark cut the tenderloins into 2" cubes, wrapped them with bacon, put them on skewers, and grilled them.
Yummy!
