Mark's Antelope Hunt

Mark looked at the pictures on my blog about the kids hunt and asked, "What about my Antelope?" So I thought I better get right on that. :-)
Mark along with his buddy, Ed, Mark's brother, Dave, and Dave's friend, Kevin, all went to South Dakota a couple weeks ago to hunt for Antelope. They all came home with an Antelope but Mark was especially geeked about his.

For those of you who might not be up on Antelope, this is a big one. Mark has to wait 60 days to let the horns dry and then he can have them measured. He is quite certain they will make it into the "Pope and Young" record book and is thinking that they might just make it into the "Boone and Crockett" record book. For a hunter that is like really cool!

Youth Hunt

The 2007 Youth Hunt was very successful for the Hill household.
Zack "bagged" an 11-point buck. Looking at the picture you may think that it doesn't look like an 11-point, that is because about 5 of the points are "sticker points" at the base of the antlers but they are "legal points". Unfortunantly he didn't get home until almost midnight so we weren't able to get a traditional hunting picture with his deer because it was dark outside and the next day was the record hot Monday so we couldn't wait for him to get home from school to take more pictuers we had to get the deer processed. We believe the meet is more valuable then the pictures. ;-)
Anna "bagged" a 9-point, non-traditional buck. It might not show up so well in this picture but the deer has really unusual antlers.
As you can see both kids are very pleased with their results.

We enjoyed venison tenderloins, from Anna's deer, and red skin potatoes for dinner Monday night. It was delicious! Mark cut the tenderloins into 2" cubes, wrapped them with bacon, put them on skewers, and grilled them.
Yummy!

Now what?

Okay this is too funny. So here I have this place to say whatever my little heart desires and I can't think of anything to say! LOL! It must be a writers block.

Oh I thought of something worthwhile... See You At The Pole was this morning. The Hill's were up and out really early. Mark dropped Zack off at the HS around 6:35am and then dropped Anna and Kaylyn off at the MS around 6:45am. I took Libby to the Elementary at 8am. There were 6 families represented at the Elementary. Not a huge turn out, but for it being the first time I think that was great! Pastor Brandon filled me in on the MS and it sounds like it went well there also. I haven't heard back from Zack about the HS yet since he is still at school. I am anxious to hear how that went though because Pastor Brandon asked Melissa to kinda head that one up and she enlisted Zack to help her. Maybe Melissa will share about how it went this morning on her blog....
