Please pray

Tuesday night was a rough night and I am still living in a bit of a fog waiting for the dust to settle in hopes to get a better view of what is going on.

My oldest sister, Jodi, has been dealing with some unexplainable health issues this summer. She was told she was in renal (kidney) failure. She was referred to a Nephrologist (fancy name for kidney doctor) who ordered a biopsy of her kidney. They took 7 biopsies last Wednesday and sent them off to the Mayo clinic for testing and had an appointment scheduled for Oct. 1 to review the results.

Tuesday she received a call from the Nephrologist. It's never good news when they call you. He had gotten some of the results back and had to tell my sister that she has cancer of the blood. It is called Multiple Myeloma and is a cancer of the plasma cell. It is an incurable but treatable disease. You can read more about it at MMRF. The Nephrologist has already set up an appointment for my sister with the Cancer and Hematology Center for this Friday.

Please keep Jodi, her husband Randy, and their 3 children; Derek (20), Brandon (18), and Kendra (16) in your prayers. The boys had to learn about this via phone call as they are both off at college right now.

Jen,
I've been thinking of you and your family so often since this came out on the prayer chain. First- I'm so so sorry you are having to go through this. I know how important sisters are and I can't imagine what you're feeling right now.
I will absolutely be praying for all of you. It's good to know it's treatable. I'm praying for you all to feel God's peace and for healing.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with this four years ago. She went to some hospital in Baltimore for treatment. Today she is doing well and has since gotten married and is now teaching school.
She was in her 50's when she was diagnosed. All this to say that there is hope. I pray the same for your sister. I pray that they can help her to be in remission.

Each day is without a doubt a true gift from God. We need to love and cherish each other always!

Yes, we can stand strong on the promises of the Lord...He is our strength and our healer. He is our help in times of trouble. He will never leave us or forsake us. He hears us when we pray.

You and your family are in my prayers!

As I was typing I glanced at your side bar and read the scripture posted. What great reminder!

I rise before the dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your Word. Ps 119: 147

He is Able!

With the Bible as your book and Jesus as you center, you guys will do great! We have been given a lamp on to our feet and a light onto our path, but there's nothing saying it will not be a rocky path! We just know that all this stuff leads are closer to that center!

If you, your sister or anyone wants to talk with us on what we have learned through our journey of diagnosis to now starting treatment, we are here for y'all. My email is pbrabbs at hotmail dot com. If you email me I can send you my phone #.

Kicking it...together!

Father in heaven, even as I sit here wondering how Jodi is doing, I know YOU KNOW. I know Jodi and Randy and their children are forever in Your sight and under Your care. I know You know exactly what to do in their situation. And I am asking You to cover them - each one of them - with Your love. Fill them with peace. Yes, overwhelm them with joy at the knowledge that You are Lord of the universe and You love them passionately.
Lord, today will You convince Jodi of Your presence and speak tenderly to her heart? Will You bring healing to her body, in spite of those who say her condition is incurable?
Please use this circumstance for Your glory!
I'm asking it in the wonderful, powerful, beautiful, matchless Name of JESUS.
Amen and amen!
