He knows I love them!

What does my sweetheart do before he leaves for the weekend to hunt? He brings me roses and not just any old color roses but yellow roses. Do you know why I prefer yellow roses? Because they represent friendship and I love knowing that I am my husband's best friend. He also brought home mint chocolate chip ice cream for me to enjoy while he is gone. He knows it is my favorite and he doesn't like it. He's a keeper!

Here is a bit of what Florapedia says about yellow roses...

A bouquet of yellow roses now brings to mind all of the sunny, cheerful feelings of warmth and happiness. In contrast to the romantic meanings attributed to other roses, the yellow rose is purely a symbol for friendship. This gives it a unique place in the pantheon of roses. Yellow roses can send the perfect message of appreciation and platonic love without the romantic subtext of other colors. They can represent feelings of joy and delight, and are an ideal way to brighten someone's day who may be feeling down. There is perhaps no other flower that is able to bring out a smile in quite the way that a yellow rose can.

That is true for me!

Smiles!

Big scary Zack....

I just couldn't resist. Emily thinks Zack is big and scary. Poor Zack just keeps on trying to get her to not see him as scary.
Some day Zack just keep working on her.

Please ignore the annoying voice on the video. Wink!

Help me find this...

Melissa, being the caring girl she is, knew Kaylyn was concerned about her first allergy shots. Since she wasn't able to go along she let Kaylyn borrow her necklace as a reminder that she was thinking about her and praying for her shots to go well. This meant a lot to Kaylyn. So you can imagine how terrible Kaylyn feels about losing it. Kaylyn was running late for the bus and she had the necklace in her hand, when she got to school she realized that she didn't know where it was. We have searched the house and the driveway and Kaylyn asked the bus driver to look for it also but no luck. I would like to replace this for Melissa but I don't know where to begin to find it. I believe she got it on a vacation in Pennsylvania. Please let me know if you have seen this being sold anywhere. Edited to add: Kaylyn just told me that on the tag it says "A friend loves at all times."

Have I told you how wonderful she is?

Look what Mari just surprised me with!?!?!? A homemade apple pie! I am beside myself. I can't tell you what a blessing this is to me. I am allergic to apple peels and it has gotten so bad over the past year that I don't even like peeling apples because my hands break out. I haven't made anything with apples in over a year. I used to make apple pie for my family but it just isn't worth the discomfort of my hands anymore and if I touch my eyes after touching apples I am running for eye drops. I can eat apples if they are peeled without any problem though. I can't wait to finish my dinner so I can dig into that pie. It is still warm!

Thank you so much Mari, you are a blessing!

Three teenagers, say it isn't so!

It is official. Wednesday Kaylyn turned 13 so I am now the mother of 3 teenagers. She was quick to "calm" my stress by stating that I will never be the mother of 4 teenagers though. Zack will turn 20 before Libby turns 13. That really doesn't help. We celebrated her birthday with my family on Sunday.

Note the Sponge Bob pants. She made it her "theme" for the day.

Kaylyn likes to decorate her own cake. Can you see who is on it? Yep, more Sponge Bob. The funny part is we don't have cable television so my kids have never watched Sponge Bob at our house.

I like this picture. This is my mom and her brother. Do they look like siblings?

Then Kaylyn was going camera crazy with Emily so here she is being held by my dad with my mom looking on.

Happy Birthday Kaylyn!

Are you ready for some Football!

Zack, Coach Sloterbeek and his wife Dawn, Coach Cataldo and myself all went to an MSU football game today courtesy of MSU.

I should take this moment to tell you all that Zack has verbally committed to MSU and we couldn't be more happy for him. We have a second generation Spartan in the house. Woot, Woot!

We headed out early this morning and met up with MSU throws coach John Newell so that he could give Zack's HS coaches a short tour before the game of the campus and show them where Zack will be working out.

The game had a noon kick-off. It was such an intense game between MSU and Wisconsin. The score was close the entire game but MSU pulled out a victory in the last 12 seconds with a field goal to make the final score 25-24. That is some great football! If you have never been to a college football game and felt the excitement in a football stadium I am here to tell you it is incredible. I love college football. Fun times!

Kat Boo-ed me!

Guess What? I've been Boo-ed by Kat at Just a Beach Kat!

Here are the rules: "Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been Boo-ed." Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween treat (picture) and tell them to Boo their friends. (Then put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows you've already been Boo-ed and to send the picture to someone else.) Are you scared yet!!??

Gotta run...I've got some booing to do!

Smiles!

Has it really been that long?

I was a little shocked to see that I hadn't posted since last Friday. Wow! Time flies when you are busy. I wanted to let you in on a book giveaway that Lisa @ The Preachers Wife is having.

Go check it out!
