It got really ugly after I left yesterday and the nursing staff suggested all of the visitors leave (which at that point was my folks, my uncle and his wife) so that they could assist Grandpa better with Grandma. They also put a call into her doctor to explain what was going on and how she was behaving (very aggressive). The doctor increased her anxiety medication and that really seemed to help.
My folks returned after dinner and they said it was a night and day difference. Dad was even able to take Grandpa to the building they moved out of so that he could play some pool. Mom said Grandpa was quite proud of the fact that he beat my dad in 4 out of 5 games. Mom was able to sit and visit with Grandma and watch some Wheel-of-Fortune (Grandma's favorite, she can usually solve the puzzles before the contestants).
Grandpa was also shocked to see how much food they got. All of their meals are now provided whereas they had a full kitchen in their old unit and would eat there a lot when Grandma wasn't up to going to the dining room.
Dad and Mom are feeling much more comfortable with leaving tomorrow knowing that Grandpa and Grandma are in capable hands.
Thank you for your prayers!

I am so glad that your grandparents are adjusting quickly. I was so touched by your post from yesterday. Brandon's grandparents moved to an assisted living facility from thier condo late last year and I was amazed at how relaxed his grandpa looked in just a few days. I don't think we realized how stressed he was, (he took care of grandma's colostemy stuff and her meds) I think knowing he had someone to help him was a great relief even if he never said it and already they have had situations where having help available has been great! (Oma just fell earlier this week)
What blessings they are to us and it is so good to know they are being cared for 24/7.

I was so glad to read that your grandparents had settled in to their new home, and that the meds had helped stabilize your grandmother. Life should be more enjoyable for them now. I am sure that you are all relieved and happy knowing they are being cared for.
